Leadership

Angelo Juliani

Senior Pastor

Pastor Angelo is the founding pastor of Bridge Community Church, PCA and the director of Comfort for Africa, one of Bridge's partner ministries. He has pastored for more than thirty years in a variety of cross-cultural settings and for the last twelve years, in addition to pastoring, has organized relief efforts in eSwatini including mobile health clinics, an annual container of relief goods, clean water, and a school building project. He and his wife Barbara have four married children and seven (soon to be eight!) grandchildren.

Josh Macha

Associate Pastor

Josh Macha serves as co-pastor at Bridge Community Church. He and his wife Anne were part of the Bridge’s launch team in 2006. He was called as a pastor at Bridge in 2019 after nine years teaching middle school English and Special Education in Philadelphia public, charter and private schools. He holds a BA in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a M.Ed in Special Education from Arcadia University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Missio Seminary. Josh grew up as a missionary kid in Dublin, Ireland and spent his teenage years in Abington. Josh and Anne and their two children, Lucia and Micah, have lived in the Germantown section of Philadelphia since 2009.

Cheryl Sumitra

Administrator

Cheryl Sumitra is our part-time Church and Sunday School administrator. She has worked in this role at Bridge since February 2014. Cheryl is a mom of a four and a career social worker. She spent 12+ years working in the child welfare system in Philadelphia, ending her career working for a non-profit doing foster care and adoption work. Cheryl has a heart to serve the church and a love of administrative (behind the scenes) work. Cheryl also works with Cradle of Hope, another of Bridge Community Church's partner ministries.

Why Bridge?

Jesus is the bridge to God for people of all nations, drawing them together to be the new community of heaven on earth. Our hope is to be a community that continues to be Christ’s bridge by:

  • Connecting the suburbs and city through mercy ministry partnerships and church planting
  • Connecting people in our webs of relationships to Jesus by being salt and light
  • Connecting our hearts to God’s heart for the nations through ministry partnerships in Swaziland and North Philly
  • Connecting Christ’s people from different nations to be an illustration of “oneness in Christ”.
  • Connecting generations and families in team ministries
  • Connecting the power of prayer to people’s lives and the good news of the gospel

Sundays at Bridge

Bridge meets at 10AM on Sunday mornings at Westminster Seminary.

2960 Church Road
Glenside, PA 19038

We seek to give God our joyful and thankful praise each week as we gather corporately for the Sunday worship service. Worship brings us into community with God and others. Our worship services follow an order which combines music, Bible reading, prayers, personal accounts of God at work, and practical preaching and teaching. We value the participation of everyone and have multiple leaders for different elements. Our rotating worship teams use a variety of musical instruments. We sing an eclectic mix of contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns in a variety of styles.

We care more about what God is doing inside your heart than what you’re wearing on the outside. The way you dress for worship is up to you. That said, our atmosphere is casual and most dress casually.

Everyone is in the service for the beginning singing portion of the service. After a few songs and announcements we will invite the kids down to the front for a kids song that they can participate in. After the kids song infants through grade 8 will be dismissed to their sunday school classes. There are separate classes/rooms for infants/toddlers, preschool, K-1st grade, 2nd-3rd grade, 4th-5th grade, and junior high.

When you enter the Van Til Hall there are greeters to welcome you and hand you a sermon outline. Please feel free to ask them any questions you may have.

The best way to connect with others and form deeper relationships at Bridge is through one of our many different small groups. Anyone is welcome to visit one of our home groups that meet in various locations throughout the week. Ladies can attend our weekly Women’s Bible Study. Men can join the once a month meetings to get to know other men in the church. Victory youth meets weekly on Sunday evenings and Kids clubs meets biweekly on Sunday evenings. Check the calendar for upcoming events and meetings of these various ministries.
